Oswaldo Tirano Navarrete is a native of Bogota, Colombia. He came to this country in 1998 to study artistic skills at the Puppet Arts program at Uconn. He learned Latin dance as part of his cultural heritage and studied theater, puppetry, dance, and voice at the National University & National School of Dramatic Arts in Colombia.
